Carly Rae Jepsen (born November 20, 1985) is a Canadian recording artist and singer/songwriter from Mission, British Columbia . In 2007, she placed third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol, and was a part of the Canadian Idol Top 3 concert tour.
Shortly after competing on Idol, she signed to Fontana and MapleMusic, and released her debut album, Tug of War on September 30, 2008. Three years later, she released a new single, entitled "Call Me Maybe", which was released by 604 Records, and was followed by the release of her debut extended play, Curiosity on February 14, 2012. "Call Me Maybe" was met with much success, reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching the number 1 spot on the Canadian Hot 100. Jepsen has signed with Interscope Records, who will help "bring her music to the rest of the world". "Call Me Maybe" is a top hit on YouTube with over 26 million views. The single also went to number 1 in Ireland and the United Kingdom, on April 8, 2012 and has currently been the UK Number 1 for two consecutive weeks.

Conor Maynard (born 21 November 1992) is an British singer from Brighton who is currently signed to EMI subsidiary, Parlophone.Maynard rose to success in 2012 when he was nominated for, and subsequently won, MTV's Brand New for 2012 award.His debut single, "Can't Say No", was released in the United Kingdom on 15 April 2012.
In December 2008, Maynard signed up to online video site YouTube, uploading the track "Breathe", a cover version of the track by British musician Lee Carr.Throughout 2009-2011, Maynard uploaded cover versions of songs with rapper/friend Anthony "Anth" Melo who resides in Virginia. Together they covered a variety of popular artists, including: Chris Brown ("Crawl"), Taio Cruz ("Dynamite"), Jessie J ("Price Tag") and Katy Perry ("E.T.").
